It's not great. Honestly, I didn't expect to be dealing with this. I figured if I got a deal I'd use it to help the hotel, but I figured that'd be on the scale of, well, getting Angel or Husk out of their contracts. Now I've seen the scale of them, and, well, what if I just ended all contracts? What then?
Overlords are sinners, usually old ones, who make deals for souls. They get you on a leash, you get, usually protection, sometimes something more complicated, sometimes jack shit because you got maneuvered into their debt in the first place.
I could give you the version Charlie told me, but she wasn't around for any of the fall from heaven stuff either, and, uh, her dad is not the most... reliable narrator I know.
It's... more of a lack of self-awareness? He's a very nice guy, but kind of a total coward on the, well, general responsibility front. Heaven did a number on him.
I mean, he failed, yeah, but it's heaven making the call. I can't say he's still trying, but ten thousand years of being beaten down would take a lot of the fight out of me, too.
Kind of a sad sack, but he doesn't mean anybody any harm. And he might be coming around. When Heaven came for us, well, probably for Charlie, he did rise to the occasion.

Sounds like a guy I'd want to get a drink with.
