Character Name: Vaggie
Series: Hazbin Hotel
Age: Unspecified immortal, looks roughly to be in early-mid twenties by human standards
From When?: Post Season 1 Finale

Warden Justification: Vaggie is a reformed villain herself, albeit one of the “must dedicate entire life to making amends” variety. She was an exorcist of heaven, righteously exterminating demons, until pure luck (stumbling over a demon child) made her question the mission. Admittedly, she was immediately mutilated by her superiors for this single lapse in bloodthirst, and sort of speedran her way to the light side as a result. But she believes in the possibility. More importantly, Vaggie’s job back home is essentially the same as on the barge, redeeming sinners in the hopes of getting them out of the line of her sisters’ fire. They’re making it up as they go along and it’s not working great, so, just like the barge! She’s eager to learn and will never relax for one second about The Mission. Even if she isn’t the most natural people person, she’s learned how compassion and gentleness are supposed to work, and she knows intimately how being better is a work in constant progress. Also the hotel is her girlfriend’s great dream and Vaggie is a wife guy, so it’s not like giving up is a choice.

Item: Hellphone

Abilities/Powers: Vaggie has retractable wings that sort of work (they don’t follow the laws of physics in any way but having them out allows her to fly, so whether it’s magical, sacred, or merely psychological is anybody’s guess). She is superhumanly strong, a little gravity defying, and correspondingly combat trained.

Wardening Strategies and Philosophies: Vaggie is a prickly hardass who likes order, despises weakness, and has limited tolerance for most people. Fortunately, she knows all this about herself. She’s not perfect, but she’s conscientious and willing to admit to being wrong. (Maybe a little too willing. Self flagellation is one of those bad habits.) She journals. She practices mindfulness. If she sometimes threatens to stab someone, she sits with that and knows she'll do better next time.

And some people do get something out of tough love. She hopes.

Vaggie is strong on empathy, if not expression, and her own journey toward being a person brings a lot of insight with it. If she’s stuck, she can always ask, what would Charlie do? (Wife guy.) Inmates who are used to hierarchy, loss of individuality, brainwashing, or just being someone else’s tool will get a lot of understanding from her. She’s a straightforward thinker and not great with being manipulated or lied to, but it’s more of a not angry, just disappointed response. She is, in fact, very hard to shock, living as she does in hell with a serial killer among her housemates. That said, she can still come across as judgy; it’s just that she judges cannibalism to roughly the same degree as being a sex pest or not doing the dishes. And because she’s used to such extremes, she may founder with giving appropriate weight to inmates with more mundane problems.

Deal: Her plan is to get back Sir Pentious, a hotel guest she (wrongly) believes died to protect the rest of them. This is likely to change in the event she finds out he’s actually fine, at which point she may move on to other guests’ problems, such as deals with more powerful demons, or pursue big, cosmic rule chances. She may even wind up giving it away. It’ll have to play out. Her main goal isn’t to earn rewards but to learn how best to redeem sinners back home.
